The Japanese Encephalitis virus (JEV) is a viral brain infection transmitted through mosquitoes’ bites1. It is the main cause of viral encephalitis in many countries of Asia. Although less likely to be symptomatic, the case-fatality rate among the cases can be as high as 30% (WHO). It is currently endemic in many asia countries and there is no cure. WHO recommends JE vaccine to be integrated into the national immunization schedule in affected countries.
Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine, Live Attenuated (because there is a live recombinant vaccine for JE) (this needs to be verified with CNBG) Over the past years, the live attenuated SA14-14-2 vaccine manufactured in China has become the most widely used vaccine in endemic countries (WHO). Our vaccine is approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is of International JE vaccine quality standard (WHO-TRS910).
